Advantages over other fuels

The autogas is supplied as a pressurised liquid and stored in a high quality steel tank usually in the rear of your vehicle. It passes through the high pressure feed line (service line) to the Vaporizor or Converter which changes the gas from a liquid into a low pressure vapour. This is then supplied to the engine as per its requirement through a ring mixer (venturi).

The gas liquid is controlled by solenoid lock off valves. Autogas or petrol can be selected either manually or automatically by means of a electronic switch which is fitted on the car dashboard. To meet stringent exhaust emission controls Lambda Controller systems are installed in most fuel injected cars. The parts shown here are samples only and will vary depending on the supplier.

The system is entirely safe with lock off type solenoid valves. There is also a maximum flow valve located in the gas tank. This valve cuts the supply of gas in case of excess flow due to a major leak for any reason. LPG tanks are made of very strong steel and tested to ensure their safe operation. Tanks are never filled with more than 80% capacity and have an array of valves and other devices which are covered by a sub-compartment which vents the fumes in the case of leakage outside of the car.

We provide the latest kits from SPRINTGAS, OMVL, MGA and Parnell Prins who provide third generation LPG equipment designed for long life and economical operation.
